ECM settings on Zgemma Star S

Hi all,
I was reading a post somewhere on here a few weeks back about ECM settings. I remember some guy saying his box is constantly freezing every 5-10 mins & vaguely remember a member saying something about changing settings on the box & something about the range needs to be set correctly.
I've got the same problem with mine, I have done a test line thing & it still does it, so can't be the lines. Have tried other boxes & they work no probs so it deffo gotta be the box.

It's getting worse now by the day & it's getting us down.

Does anyone have the knowhow to help me get this problem fixed, the box is less than 5 months old & I'm using Vix Image QUICK vix 3.2.005

Thanks & all help greatly appreciated :D

I'm using open TV wooshbuild and having the same problem my mates who I set up exactly the same with the same provider never freezes but mine does...thought it was cause I have multiple box's and a twin tuner but after reading this and more than likely the same post as you have read I'm thinking it is something else

How many boxes are you running off the same line?

2 box's 1 with twin tuner my provider has said I can have up to 4 box's running off the same line obviously under the same address

turn 1 box off and see if you get the same activity. And make sure you are only have the one line in the box i.e no old tests or any other lines other than the one you are using.
same goes for you paulh24 the latter part that is.

I rarely use both box's at the same time...strange it's not all the time today for instance haven't had any freezing but like I said my mate with same setup never gets any....my second box is on home plugs and off when not in use main box is hard wired and to make things even weirder my mate is using a WiFi adapter and never has in issue he has 12 mb download 3 up I'm on fibre 40 -10 only difference is he is with talk talk I'm with sky

Go to network setup and turn off DCHP, edit DNS and try googles 8.8.4.4. and 8.8.8.8

Do this on both boxes, it will also give each box a static private IP address.

Or change it at the router if your router allows it

That's something I've never done since I put them in maybe switched them off when on holidays I'll try that too thanks gman

Their is no 2nd line in my box, it's hard wired to the router & upto a few days ago switched routers cos thought maybe it was that that was causing the issue. Today I'm gonna do a signal test on my dish & change the ports on my quad LNB see if that helps.

Thanks anyways

My problem has been partly solved, I have a very small window of space where my dish is located. On the left I have a gable end of a house & on the right a 20ft tree with a small gap in between. My dish was pointing more towards the house, signal strength has changed a bit more since I turned it a little more to the right. It's just sometimes seldom now it breaks up. I have in the past few days complained to the council about the over grown weed tree & they sending a tree surgeon round to cut it down. I don't suppose that's gonna be anytime soon though tbf. Can't relocate my dish anywhere else other than my chimney stack & I ain't going up there cos I hate heights & besides I want it somewhere where I can have easy access to. Will keep you posted bout the tree :)

Cheers anyways
