Hi all

Just cant get the cross epg to work there is some info for a day or 2 on some channels and blank on the rest. When i go to the channel it will load now and next and when i go to epg it has the data for that channel whereas before it had blank, i cant go to every channel manually like this lol! and even if i did it only is now and next. I really need/want 7 day epg

I am running OpenATV-5.1 + Slyk 1 HD Skin - Fast N' Loud - Backup Build - Thomas88

ive completed all the steps.

Info on my set up:

i have a 4gb sandisk in the back usb - this is what i used to flash the image.

i have mounted a 1tb external hard drive on the front of the box.

I have downloaded cross epg and in configure i have these setting:

storage device: M3 portable
enables csv inport: yes
Force epg reload on boot: no
scheduled download: once a day
scheduled download at 05:00
show as plugin: yes
show as extension: no
sjow force reload as plugin: no

xmltv providers rytec uk xmltv ticked
opentv providers, sky uk open tv

i download and after a while "parsing events" (whats that?) gets to about half full and then the progress bar just goes back to the start and stays like that, i left it for about 30mins not moving or anything.

what can i do?

Ive read loads of issues with crossepg with openatv - i dont really want to change image, but no epg renders the box virtually useless to me.

i have also created a swapfile to go to /hdd (this is my external hard drive located on front of box) 2048MB

bouquets i have ireland and uk enabled.

Just remove crossepg plugin you don't need it and as you mention, it doesn't like openatv. You don't need to change image just go in the plugin menu, remove crossepg.

Then go in plugins and download xmltvimporter and xmltvimporter rytec. (there under extensions)

These then have their own settings menus in epg menu. Just set the source to rytec uk, do a manual download initially, probably best to set it to about 2 or 3 days the default 5 days takes forever.
You don't even have to stay on that page while its downloading. Just set it going and get on with watching tv.

Make sure your epg is set to save to usb/hdd and you will have a 99% populated epg ;)

i went into crossepg downloader and pressed red to remove the plug in, do i now click system plugins, then crossepg (0.8.1+gitr421)?

Where ever crossepg lives... extensions or systems plugins. Just remove it. Nobody bothers with it on openatv as its too buggy.
 
deleted it it was system plugins, cant seem to find them xmltv files? i click download and get the ablove options again
 
extentions... scroll up it quicker because its right at the bottom of the list. You might already have them installed. click menu..setup..epg...and see if the is xmltvimporter their.

gone to extensions, the only "x's" i have is xbmcaddon (8.0_r0), xbmcwetter (1.3rc4) and xpower (2.0+git25)
 
you already have it installed then.

go menu..setup..epg... xmltvimporter

press blue and set the source to rytec uk

set the load long description to 2 days (for now)

Leave everything else as default.

Press yellow to manual start the download. (you can leave that screen now)

In a few minutes all your epgs will be populated.

Then in Menu...setup..epg..settings
make sure the epg location is set to /media/hdd (just press left if its not on it. Sometimes it takes about 10 seconds to move between the options)

Save EPG data... yes
Automatic Save...yes

the rest of the options are up to you.
