The hdd that you are saving your time shift to has not been initialised correctly it should be ext 3 or ext 4. Initialise it again and it should resolve the problem

Thanks, the timeshift and recordings have always been saved to the same hdd and this has just started happening, if I initialise it will I lose my recordings.

I think you will lose everything. The exact same thing happened to me it just randomly started giving that error and I re initialised and it has been fine ever since. Before you do it just check your time shift settings and make sure that it is all set to the correct path etc. I'm sure someone else who knows a bit more about it will respond soon.

Thanks, I've just checked and the hdd is showing as ext 4 so not sure what's going on there. I've got a few recordings on it and don't really want to lose them.

Just go into timeshift settings and resave and do a reboot, I've seen this a lot, it's says drive not formatted correctly but know that is absolute tosh!

Hmmm, have you got it to automatically start after 2 seconds? Try changing that. And save , then change it back again,

if the above steps don't work, you can just FTP into the box and copy your recording to your PC and then you can format the HDD and then transfer the recordings back

No luck with that either, everything is working fine I can pause, rewind live tv and recording is fine as well.

Thanks the message hasn't came up for a while so I'll keep my fingers crossed I won't have to do that

Well I thought it was cured but alas no, I've tried everything the HDD is definitely EXT 4 and the USB is the same, I'm lost !!!

Can anyone help with this please, it is doing my head in I just can't get rid of this message :(
Thanks

Have you definitely checked Mount Manager and made sure your USB is still mounted as /media/hdd and Ext4 R/W?
Menu > InfoPanel > Plugins > Mount Manager

and that your timeshift path is /media/hdd/timeshift/.

Thanks Willo yes all that is correct and now I can't rewind live TV I'm getting the red no entry sign in the top right hand corner, I'm pulling my hair out with it X

Update I can rewind live TV again but still getting that message, it's a nightmare

I save backup settings and CrossEpg on it would it be better to save everything on the HDD ? Do you think that's maybe started causing a problem ?

Might be but not sure why. Why don't you use a microsd for epg etc? Must surely look better than a usb sticking out of the front.

I have the box behind doors with an IR extender so you don't see it. I just wish there was a fix for this message.

1. Format a USB to NTFS...put USB stick into pc/laptop whatever u want to call it and right click. When list pops up click on format. Select NTFS and format....(yes this will delete everything)

2. Put USB in the front of box. Press menu then setup. Go down to system and press ok. Next select storage devices and select initialisation. your USB will be highlighted and press ok. Initialise (red button)

3. Create swap file. Press menu>Info panel>Plugins>swap manager. Press green to create>select 256 mb> wait until its finished then press activate (red button) then press yellow to autostart. Exit back 2 the start and restart your box.

4. Press menu>info panel>plugins>mount manager>press green and change to: /media/hdd. Press green to save. Then exit back to the start.

5. Press menu>setup>recordings & Timeshift>timeshift settings>timeshift location should read /media/hdd/timeshift/.then exit back to the start.

6. Press menu>setup>crossEPG>configure and select your storage device. Then press exit once (1). Scroll down to Download now and press ok.
