Hi,

My friend has given me one of these boxes.......how do they work?!

What do i need?!

If you are talking about movies and TV shows then they are basically search engines to various file host and streaming web sites. You will need an internet connect and be wiling to do some reading as these boxes are NOT plug and play due to various cat and mouse games that go on between copyright holders, the ISP, Kodi plugin developers and the hosting/streaming sites

Internet only and you will need a fairly reliable couple of mb of bandwidth. If you can view youtube HD then you should be fine.

No needs for gifts, there are a few 'premium' sites for streaming live sports that charge but personally I wouldn't pay for them as content is available through other plugins. The only other item that might be worth paying for is a VPN service (around £3 per month) as some sites are blocked by UK ISP but again you can usually get access to content with a bit of trial and error.

Should clarify that though you there are several plugins that provide live TV streams which are usually non-SD, you will have a better chance of success for non-live content. For live content your best bet would be a sat or cable box.

hi,used evo xfinity boxes and they were great at first but now there is no support,only running on Frodo so no plugins will work no due to updates,,also epg rubbish.I had 2 of them and had to throw them away.

Get something good like one of the vu+ boxes or if you don't want to spend too much a zgemma2s is ok

The only thing you need to do is thank your friend then give it him back.... Absolute nightmare only running Frodo as mentioned later in the thread...
Updates are rubbish.... I even contracted lavatronics who want basically nothing to do with them..... Save a few pennies and grab a Zgemma Star 2s!![emoji6]
