f5s discovery channels not working

sister in law has one of the f5s boxes her brother gave it her after upgrading his. she had the f3s but it started crashing on hd channels (the ones that still worked) anyway her brother said a few ago he updated the channel list and non of the discovery channels worked after that .

tonight i have changed the channels list numerous times from older (march time ) upto the latest and the discovery channels still dont work . updated ,down graded ,used v5s latest firmware (works on f5s) nothing allows the discovery channels to work . its not the v polarisation problem either as the discovery channels are h polarisation and all v polarised channels work fine .

even used her f3s firmware back up which all channels work on ,on the f5s and they still dont work . even checked frequency of the channels incase they had gone too high for the box to pick up but some other channels are at higher frequencies . strange problem this and after a bit of searching it seems there's a few people on other forums with the same problem.

What at message are you getting on these channels?

nothing just the scrambled logo. all the signal strength etc is fine , every other channel works as it should , box was on an nline to start with brother in law said the line died after around 7 months provider said dns problem and gave him a new port number to put in the line , most of the channels came back but not them all . been on the site where he bought the line and it happened to alot of people with f5s boxes . but didnt effect enigma boxes .
its now on sisters own cline with a newer image ,newest channels list and still the same channels dont work . as though something is stuck in the memory stopping them working .

Thanks the onscreen message can tell us a lot, as you have scrambled then it looks like the box is tuning to the correct channels and is getting a signal. As as you have tried another cline then make sure you have removed the old nline if you haven't it could still be accessing the old nline, if you have removed the nline try deleting the channel list then power off the box and then power back on and try loading the latest channel list.

old nline was completely deleted , checked more than once , deleted channel list ,loaded latest list ,done a new channel scan , found one channel to be labelled aj's channel list (dated february 2016) ,deleted that entry from the channels rebooted still the same , doesnt matter what line is entered into the box the channels still dont work and lines are from different providers. channel scan didnt find any alternative discovery channels so rules out frequency change etc . wondering wether the erom fix might be worth runnning to completely erase the memory ,seems to be alot of the same f5s boxes that have this error but not the f3s or other skybox variants.
