That's more of a TV logo isn't it? Not from the actual homatics box

The only settings like that on the box would be

Settings

Device preferences

Display and sound

HDR settings

With everything going on with firesticks I use the Zgemma H9 twin , pretty easy set up and easy to get a VPN like surfshark on these days as well . Can add pretty spacious hard drive and hooks to satelite feed so you can watch council telly even if internet is down

Only trouble less and less people have satellite dishes these days but i am with you on this as i have similar.

I have no reference point and am very new to all this. But I opted for a Tanix TX5 plus. Had to update to the latest firmware as it seemed to come with an early version that would not update.
Running well so far, no stuttering or anything like that, and not overly loaded with bloat (though i may switch to slimboxtv if one is made avaialble for the box)

No Slimbox rom at the moment there will be though.

The latest official firmware i could see was 20251111
Yep that’s what I found. Managed to flash the November firmware yesterday without issue. Not noticed much of a change but I didn’t really have issues with it to begin with.

How to set up non certified Andriod box

Nice one👍 Just waiting for my China box to arrive and hopefully can start setting it up this weekend. On another note, I've been reading through the various iptv guides on this forum since I joined recently, and it has been an excellent source of info! Thanks all.
Just to update if anyone is interested.

I bought the “Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd Gen”, which I didn’t know is actually Google certified.
Got it second hand for 25 quid.

I’ve been playing around with it for the past few days and its running Stremio+RD video in 4k with no issues.

IPTV with Tivimate + VPN is running fine in HD, though I did sometimes see choppiness when playing 4K 50fps channels, though this could be for any number of reasons.

There’s no ethernet port so it’s all connected through wi-fi but I might get a USB to ethernet adapter and see if it makes any difference.

Same as silverblack mentioned above, I’m also not too keen on the remote but that’s probably just because I’m used to the firestick remote layout and functions. I’m sure I’ll get used to it after a while.

All in all, I’m pretty happy with it, especially for the price.

Were a month down the line from when we were told that firestick were going off.........Well..... i don't know off one person who's stick has shutdown.....

What is the latest fire stick update, i am still on 7.7.06 , i had update blocked for months, and i know its not that anymore , am i doing right thing or will they get around it, i have cube i aint binning it yet cost to much , but mine still is perfect. just curious what new update is.

Not a stick but I have been using a thomson box for about 6 weeks, cost about a £ 59 when I got it.
Have been impressed with it easy to use, quite quick easy to set up,
If you want you can set it to just show your apps with no bloated stuff as well.
Only little thing I have found is it doesn't have BBC I player,
but to takes a few minutes to side load.
You can put your usual apps on and they run as normal.
Disney , nextflix , prime all good, no need to sideboard.
I have used it using my phone hot-spot and it picks the signal up miles better than my firestick 4 k.
They do a stick version,
If its as good as the box it might be an option.
Yes I got one a couple of months back, have to say it’s brilliant, none of that bloated stuff if you set up right, fast enough for me, only really use for IPTV but do have all the other terrestrial apps added and usual premium apps, no problems at all, look for when deal on about £60

Wot firestick do you have, older firesticks, may not update to latest operating systems.
I have the cube generation 2, i have it blocked everthing i try update it says its unable to update, i try every few weeks to see if it will update , i dont give flying fk adverts i only use for tv so on for a second , i bought thomson 270 pro in october for back up , but still use cube , been flawless
