Firestick Boot Up

Hello all, my friend firestick is constantly booting up into the “Optimisjng System Storage and Applications” screen but dosent get any further. He’s tried putting the usb into the plug and also the tv but still the same. Is there anyway to sort this or is the firestick dead?

What do you mean by …putting the usb into the plug ?
The fire stick should have a usb connection to a power adaptor at all times , preferably the power adaptor that came with it.
can you try a power adaptor and cable from a working fire stick .
if this fails try a factory reset - press the back button and right hand side of navigation ring together for 10 seconds

Yeh mate usb connection to the power adaptor and he’s also tried usb connection to tv for power. It was working fine but today just started doing this.

Tv might not provide enough power for fire stick you need to try another adaptor and cable

Try a different plug and cable to the fire stick either could be faulty.

Some tips on there, I'd try them all one by one making sure not to miss any before I consigned the stick to the bin.
