Can you record on the cable side of this box with one feed ?

Yes, if you record on the cable side, you can then switch and watch from the Sat side or visa versa.

Any Wi-Fi on these boxes mate or just ethernet?

I only used Ethernet, but yes you can use wifi is you want. Its not built in, think the adaptors about 10 quid ish?
