its all good and looks great but i thought they would of added a tuner so you could get normal free view through the box as well because at the moment you have to buy a plug and play usb tuner to plug the tv ariel into which costs 60 to 80 so that makes the box over 200 as a lot of people like there normal tv on the same box thats why they go for the stb boxes just my opinion

Same CPU and GPU as Z11 but has more storage and DV.

Well is it worth it? My strong leap s3 box is handling all of that with out any real problems.

Obviously It has a better CPU etc and storage and backlit control.

The strong leap only has 100meg port but haven't found a movie that needs more than 64 meg to stream

I second this it would have attracted a lot more customers.

newb question so apologies if its been answered before

is there a post or page that gives a comparison between this and lets say an nvdia shield pro running tivimate/sparkle what is the advantage of this over the shield or other player the price is roughly the same so not sure what the advantage would be

Shield is still ahead in my opinion codecs can be added fairly easy. I don't bother about ram to much not that important but the shield still has the better CPU.

Could be boxes with more storage but I would say sheild is still top of the game.

thanks for the the info and reply mike i'll be sticking with my current setup then but did want to see why people would choose the formuler box. I've yet to try out mytvonline. thanks again

You can’t add codec that it doesn’t support.

I have a Formuler Z11 Pro after buying and returning the nVidia shield. I agree that it has more support for codecs and can do more, but I really disliked the bloat on it. I'm disgusted turning on a device and seeing adverts in my face. I was also not a fan of the remote. I know you can use custom loaders, etc. I want a box that if disaster strikes, it takes me a few mins to flash it, install apps and be back up and running. I don't want to make custom configs, install extra apps, etc

I just love the clean interface of Standard Android TV on Formuler boxes. I'm a simple man!
IMO- MyTVOnline is overrated. I never bought the box for this. I use Tivimate and I much prefer it's look and feel

That is probably the advantage of them. The clean interface I actually dont like all the buttons on a remote either. For some reason had to activate the sound optimiser app for the uhd streams to work properly

I personally prefer AOSP devices because they don’t have any bloatware.
I just install Projectivy Launcher because of the customisation and you can use any live wallpapers and change all icons and arrange them to your own preferences.

I only just worked out on my strong box there's a setting to show apps only. Which cleans the interface up
