is it really necessary to have a thanks to view the post? just causes problems with not being able to see it
 
the feature is there j4v3d if some user groups want to use it, its just under maintenance at the moment,

some users just grab and run and do not participate or give what so ever on a forum, so at least if the user gets a thanks for all the work and effort they put in, its something.

all users should contribute and do their bit on here, best place to be :)

Unfortunately connecting through port 563 using a SSL connection does not work for me anymore. It did before. Normal (port 119) is still OK.

Normal connection is also failing (refused) now

The require thanks in now fixed so when posting the server details please use it,

also from now on members posting thanks rather than using the thanks button in here or anywhere else will have there post deleted and an infraction will be given out.

Further infractions will result in a weeks ban, do it again after the ban has lapsed and you will be banned permanently.

We dont want members having to sift through a load of posts with thanks as the content.

Moderators have more important things to do without having to wipe up pointless - countless Thanks posts!.
 
It may take up to 30 minutes after you have made your first post. Depends on when the server refreshes. This was detailed to you in your welcome email and also in a post on your profile page.
 
just4today just came alive for me. It's probably been a month since it worked presumably because of their upgrade. If anyone is unaware, the 24 hour userid and password can be found at just4today...net. I had tried it earlier today and it had failed, so I guess there is no guarantee it will be reliable, but it likely will be soon.

What made me try it again, was that Dan's hitnews info wasn't working for me. Anyone else having trouble or success with that server?

(... Because I'm new and under the 20 post count.)
