Freezing on H.2s

Ok so today for example I watched the man city game and did not have one glitch and I put my box in deep standby after for a couple of hours but when I turned it back on at about eight o clock I watched a movie and I must of had about 10 glitches over a 2 hour period my satellite was perfect and my internet seemed to be no different either. I also restarted my box and also made no difference. Anyone able to work out what this could be?

I was experiencing similar issues a while ago. Did all the research, ran updates, monitored my connection etc. Ended up getting a test line and running them together. Solved the issue and so purchased that extra line.

When I watched the man city game i didn't use any other devices but at night i was on the tablet when it glitched I was only browsing but does using one device have an affect?

James how would an extra line benefit it?

Still glitching anyone help?

If your provider has issues, is over subscribed etc. It can cause glitches and after hours of testing I concluded that it was my provider. I added a 48 hour test line and changed the settings to switch between the both so basically if there is an issue on one line it switches to the other and minimises glitches. In that 48 hour period I only had one small glitch so I paid for the line and have barely had any glitches since.

BTW your lines have to be from different providers/servers

How do you make the settings so that automatically switches if one is glitching a lot? Also I cant make sense that mine was perfect all week and yesterday up until last night?

How often on average should a box freeze if its on a good line? I am trying to establish if my line is good..

For a footy match lets say, on average it may freeze once for about 8-9 seconds.. but then other times (less frequently), it will freeze 2-3 times.

On TV programs and shows, it freezes less so maybe once in evening.. Does that seem normal or do people have lines that freeze much less?

Well ran some days I don't ever have a glitch and then some days it won't stop glitching and my internet is perfect

Thanks coybig.. any other users who can share their glitching experience?
Have you tried all the usual stuff,
Reboot your router on a regular basis.
Hard wire to receiver,
Unplug and disconnect everything that's uses the internet (just for test purposes)
Up to date image
Checked all connections
Decent copper core cable
Checked dish alignment
Different mg_cfg file
Other test lines

thanks for that.. I more wanted to know how often on average should a box freeze if its on a good line? I am trying to establish if my line is good.. or if I should go elsewhere?

That's a difficult one to answer as some will tell you that they can watch a whole game with no glitches, others 1 or 2 during the game.
The internet plays a big part in this game and the results can be varying for different people connected to the same server.
What I would say if it's bugging you then maybe try another test line.
Alternatively look at using oscam as your softcam and buy another line from another server and run two lines simultaneously, that way your cutting the odds for a chance of a freeze (works well with the right combination of servers)

Pings are more important than internet speed the lower the better also when it happens double tap OK button to bring up your ECM info

High ecm's will cause glitching/freezing
Have a look at what your ecm times are averaging
Remember though if you get a full freeze of roughly 8 seconds your ecm might look normal but that's because the box has either received a bad ecm or your network has dropped packets which in turn creates a bad or dropped ecm

Anything between 0.000 and 0.550 should be perfectly fine
Mine usually bounce between 0.065 and 0.300
