What's new

GAA football and hurling

well, it is now time to rant, how rubbish were the dubs today? okay, that doesn't need an answer as they were the worst that i have ever seen in the 33 years that i am going.
it has to be said , that there is no replacement for playing , and today it showed. Dublin haven't played for 5 weeks, and kerry have had 3 games in that time.
Kerry didn't have to get out of first gear, as Dublins passing, midfield, and pass/shot decisions were attrocious.
Let's hope that this is the kick up the @rse that dublin need to bring us on to the next level, though i hope that every year for the last 5 at least.
I have heard the Gilroy out shouts, but I think he has had the balls to drop people (not always the right ones, I would play wheelo every time), and bring in some new players.
as I always seem to say in august of late "theres always next year"
RANT OVER

Totally agree with you wheelo.
Kerry destroyed us in midfield today (what midfield? ) :dunno:

The forwards never had a hope :(

I`m a big fan of ciaran Whelan, & think he should start every game.
Although he didnt look 100% fit today.

Not too happy with gilroy :no no:

if you are going to play Ciaran Whelan at full forward, then at least lump in some high ball so he has the chance to field the ball, then lay it off or shoot

Just a few pics from yesterdays game.

Well Done Cork :hurray:

Final Score Cork 1-13 Tyrone 0-11

Miskella cleared to play for Cork

Cork's John Miskella is free to play in this year's All-Ireland SFC final after referee John Bannon stood by his original punishment.

Bannon was given an opportunity by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee to review the off-the-ball incident in which Miskella struck Tyrone's Brian McGuigan during the Rebels' semi-final win on Sunday.

The Longford man showed Miskella a yellow card at the time, and following a review of the match tape, Bannon deemed his original sanction appropriate.

A statement from the GAA confirmed: 'Arising from an incident in last Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-final involving Tyrone No 24 and Cork No 5, the Central Competitions Control Committee requested the Referee to clarify, by way of viewing video footage of the incident, if he felt the incident had been dealt with adequately on the day by issuing a yellow card to the Cork No 5, John Miskella.

'The Referee has confirmed that he considered that a yellow card was the appropriate sanction. The CCCC may not, therefore, initiate further disciplinary action in relation to this matter.'
