The blaze broke out at around 7.30pm yesterday at the NorthLink Retail Park on the old Coes Road.

No one was injured in the incident.

Eight units of the Dundalk, Navan and Drogheda fire service battled the fire.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Gardaí say they are keeping an open mind as to the cause of the fire, which destroyed one store and damaged seven other furniture stores in the town last night.

It is thought the cost of the fire could run into several million euro.

definitely not good news for a lot of families, one of the furniture stores was stocked up to the hilt as they were about to start a sale today. But you have to say that it is very lucky that no-one was hurt
