That’ll do for now, I’ve set mine to auto-start on the TV at power-up. The only annoying bit is not being able to cast from my phone anymore, but I’ll get used to just checking the watch history on the TV after searching on my phone. Still beats paying £13 a month.

You’re lucky, I think. It looks like Google’s patched things up to stop VPNs from working altogether. The only real options now are to create a new Google account or sideload a modded YouTube app. I might just make a new Google account when I’m back in Brazil and link it to my CPF (see how far that gets me once I’m back in London).
 
I had issues with YouTube premium billing , and I kept being cut off. I was using the Revanced YouTube app and MicroG to sign in to my account with zero issues. I then discovered Firefox browser extensions (Ublock origin and "ImprovedTube" ) They make for the premium experience. Of course if its a browser type experience you are after like myself , Brave browser blocks all the nasties out of the box too and is cross platform!.

I am pretty security conscious with apps on my phone and google services is one of the biggest intrusions out there (each day in wee hours it zips all your site,keyboard,app data and phones home to the mother ship). So switching to these FOSS apps and scripts are a no brainer IMO.

Just been kicked off, by You Tube. Gamsgo have said they’re not liable, even though they have had a full refund🤪
They have give me a 15% discount and 6.5
Points, whatever they do. Think the VPN route will do, for the time being😉
 
Same happened to me. I use YouTube a lot so I've just caved in and bought a Premium Lite subscription at £7.99/mo (as opposed to £12.99 for the addition of YouTube Music which I don't need) It's not offered as an option on every account but you can get it by using this link.
