Getting a black screen fairly often :(

Hello Kings and Queens.

I'm currently using Vix (Reflashed from a friends backup). And I'm getting a black screen now and again.. Anyone else had this issue?

Running the box via ethernet. Also I'm on fibre optic (Speed test shows around 50mb/s).

I have however extended the coax cables, could this be the issue? If it is, is there any way I could fix it? I mean it's not exactly rocket science to extend the cables lol. I did get the connections from the local shop so it's not like I've just tried taping them together with electrical tape.

The build I'm running works fine on the better halfs parents box. I'm thinking it's either the box, or my cables. I've just got a brand new TV so I know it's not that.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is it on All channels, including the Free to View channels such as BBC and ITV, or just premium channels?
 
Are you getting the black screen on fta channels or just the subscription channels?
Does the screen go black whilst watching a channel or when you change to a channel?

Hi guys,

I've only ever noticed it happen on premium channels, so I cannot rule out the FTA channels. I'll try watching some FTA channels to see if it does it on them too.

If it is the same on the FTA chans, would that mean the box is naff'd?
 
I've had a server before (from eBay, which come with the box) and now I've got a new line/server from a friend of a friend. Maybe it's something to do with my internet then maybe?
 
You don't need super fast broadband for connection to your server, have you had a look at your ecm timings,

I'm not on vix I'm not 100% because I'm openatv man .
But if you look in menu and softcam manager I think,
Then you need to into server details

Does it keep changing ? Can you have that on when going through a bad spell, that's a low number by the way, just be said betraying if it shoots up when you have a black out or if it gets any ecm data

Is it your tv saying no signal because nothing coming from hdmi or isnit the sat box? Do you know how to locate signal finder

SNR: is going up and down from 73-74% AGC: 98% and BER: 0.

Tune: Predefined transponder
Transponder: 12110 H 27500 5/6

Not sure why tuners at predefined, can they be set to simple, I think that signal is a little on the lower side, have a look at your connections on the extensions you made,

OK this may sound like a silly question, you're using a backup image from a friends box, you have replaced his line with your own haven't you?
