I have encountered a number of niggly issues since my purchase of said stick (most of them resolvable by rebooting) but it seems I am having to do a reboot every day now (for example all Tivimate channels periodically losing sound on startup, yet the same Tivimate version on my firestick upstairs never has this issue).
I wanted to reference the two main problems, to ensure that there is no obvious quick fix - before I shelve it completely and put it down to experience...
Any pointers would be appreciated.
The most frustrating issue is when navigating between HDMI ports on my TV (Panasonic Viera).
I have the GD1 stick on HDMI 1 (used chiefly for IPTV) and my old Zgemma (still used for freeview purposes) on HDMI 2.
If I navigate away from the GD1 stick to watch anything on my other device for a period of time, when I return to HDMI 1, I am met with a black screen - no home screen as I would expect.
The only way to resolve this is to unplug the GD1 stick from the wall socket.
It then reboots as normal and all is well - until next time..
It is almost as if the GD1 stick goes into some sort of sleep mode after a short period of time.
By that I mean if I switch to HDMI 2 for 10 minutes, when I go back to HDMI 1, the GD1 home screen will still be there.
If I switch to HDMI 2 for an hour, when I go back to HDMI 1, all I get is a black screen.
All I want is for the home screen to be always there!
I live with my old man, and seeing him struggling every day with these recurring issues, will probably force my hand in the end.
I shouldn't really be having to reboot this thing daily, should I?
The second issue is that when the GD1 stick is in use, my WIFI (Plusnet) signal goes through the floor.
The stick doesn't even have to be playing anything, just having the home screen on is enough to send my WIFI speed plummetting.
The router is in the front room, and if I am in the front toom the WIFI speed is perfect.
If I go upstairs though, my connection speed is reduced to rubble.
The stick is definitely impacting the distance that the WIFI signal travels, but why that would be - and how can I eliminate this issue?
Any help on the above would be appreciated, as it is way out of my skill set.
It would be good to know that there are no fast fixes that I am oblivious to, before putting my hand in my pocket again.
It would, of course, be even better to learn that the issues that I have described are resolvable, but we shall see...
It's a real shame, because I like the speed and layout of the device itself, but I can't be carrying on like this...
Cheers in advance.
