Hi,
I've managed to make it to this point with the help of this forum, so massive thanks! I have a motorised dish, but since the channels have been disappearing made the switch a mutant hd51, setup with one cable and one satellite tuner, running openatv.
I have vm cable broadband only. There's (AFAIK) a single line that runs in and connects to the superhub.
I've put a 1->2 spliter and then 2no 300mm lengths of rg6 triax, with screw on fittings that I did myself. One to superhub (which is in modem mode) and one to mutant.
I've tried 2no 5-2400mhz splitters, and now a 5-1000mhz splitter, which seems to have made no difference.
Attached are two images from bbc one showing the issues. It's not any worse on encrypted channels. It does seem to get worse when streaming YouTube to ipad etc. Also fast moving images appear to be more glitchy.
If I disconnect the cable from the modem the picture issues largely resolve, but there is no difference in signal strength which is around the high 70's.
Also attached is pics from my modem. The earlier picture is when modem connected directly to original cable. The later picture is when original cable goes to splitter, then to mutant and to modem.
I think I need a booster, but don't want to spend £20and wait a week to find out I'm wrong.
Thanks in advance
