GrogBuild Grogbuild FreeRange is available again

Softcams, have been giving ATV users issues over the past couple of weeks, ie feeds not available etc. At the time I put all the softcams on my own feed so they where still available but there have been updates to the files over the past few weeks so I thought it's time to update Grogbuild FreeRange.

It appears there are a few different softcamspanels about but I chose to use softcam-feed-universal_6.Plus_all.ipk I thought it would be a simple update but the new softcams are now located in similar folders as VIX and others. This meant I had to check, double check and triple check that your line was backed up and restored correctly. It also meant that the AddaLine plugin needed updating to use the new paths.

From now on if uploading your softcam files manually they go in the following locations :

mgcamd/newcamd.list is unchanged and goes into the /usr/keys folder
CCcam.cfg now goes into the /etc folder
oscam.server files go into /etc/tuxbox/config/oscam-emu folder on ATV or /etc/tuxbox/config on VIX

MGCAMD IS NOW AVAILABLE ON ARM BASED BOXES.

Installtion instructions have not changed from those posted in GrogBuild - Grogbuild FreeRange for all enigma2 boxes

If you have any question about using the build please start a thread in All Builds so this thread does not become a long twisted thread.

Yes, all working fine now, just done a H5
WRT your comments about atv and vix 'merging', I did notice the softcam panel/manager looks like a Vix creation
Not that it makes any difference so long as it works, good work

I don't like vix, probably just because I am used to the ATV menu system etc but I suppose if they have similar file structure it makes sense so users can migrate from one to another easily but if they get too similar then what's the point of 2 different images if they're the same.

h9t keeps going funny when I load grog.it wont show and the feeds in opkg folder don't look right.says something about neon.cam wont start.struggling like mad for few days now.tried everything

when did you flash grogbuild?

what opkg folder are you looking in?

I think people are mixing up softcam feed with softcam panel/manager. I may be wrong.

flashed loads over last few days.done a couple times.they eithr gone or wrong.having to use a back up and not update.if I update th cam is thre but wont start....

between wednesday and last night it couldn't be installed as I took it down and then as posted above the softcams didn't install this morning for some reason but it was fixed earlier today. Have you tried this afternoon?

@Jonpickles70 i can confirm it works fine now as ive flashed four boxes with it today and softcams installed on them all.
Reboot your box
Put a usb in and initialise
Go to webif and Terminal
Paste in the flash my box command line,.in half an hour, all done and ready to go

You don't need to do any of that, the command line downloads and installs the newest atv for your box, then adds freerange over that

I know but I wanted to get rid of the cams on it.the cam is working ish now but not showing in quick launch.cant find panel anywhere.info just brings up softcam setup which brings up some weird box askig what cam select server and restart softcam and restart cardserver.

Yes, this weird box is the new softcam panel
Flashing it wont make any difference, it'll be the same.
Its not much different, just choose your.softcam and click start or restart

Softcam setup is a new version of softcam panel. Just goto plugins, download plugins, softcams install the cam you want.

Now you should be able to goto softcam setup and change cam then choose restart softcam.

It goes in etc folder on both vix and atv now

I've just run the command line updating my own H2h as it had been playing up for a week or two
I backed up my line onto pc, put a usb in and initialised it then decided to time it from start to finish
I pasted the line in Terminal at 19:13
answered the few questions and let it do it's thing, it was finished for 19:24 - eleven minutes
I then run epg importer (3 mins) and while this was running, used filezilla to add my line etc back
restarted softcam at 19:28

Slightly over 15 minutes from start to finish

Hi I am new to grogbuild with a fair bit of help from tk members I just put it on box today but am wondering how often I would need to do updates on it? (For future reference) also I did a backup of settings will that save my line too, or should it have been complete back up? only ever used one image b4 this so a novice trying to learn
