Hard drive recommendation

Can anyone recommend a hard drive to use with the Zgemma star s2?

I originally tried using a 1tb usb3.0 wd my passport ultra (usb powered) but it refused to delete recordings and generally 'played up' a bit.

I'm currently using a 250gb Usb2.0 seagate expansion (usb powered) which is working fine but I'm sorting out a box for my in laws and need a hard drive for it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
 
I've got a brand new toshiba 500 GB USB3 on one box and an old freecom 250GB USB2 on the other box and both are working fine.
