Help after flashing - glitchy

Hi, my friend has a zgemma h.2s, he brought it with a build on about a year ago but the EPG etc doesn't work. I told him how great woosh build was, he asked me to flash his box. I did it the exact same way that I did mine, the only difference is that he has a nline. I got it all working but now it glitches often and sometimes gets pixelated. This never happened before putting woosh build on. I know it's nots wooshbuild as that's great, I was wondering if anyone experienced this & if there's any settings I could change??

Thanks

Is the Satellite signal ok? Can you try swapping your boxes over?

It also could be a line issue. Worth trying a test line to see if the problem disappears

Try changing the line. Delete the N: and change it to CWS= make sure mgcamd is selected in softcam panel and line is in newcamd. I had a similar prob a few days ago and this seemed to work. As said above tho, make sure the sat cables are inserted correctly and are tight.

Not sure but n goes in newcamd file and CWS goes into mgcamd. Either way they both run using the mgcam soft cam lol. Very confusing, does my head in. I just wish c lines were more stable as there is no confusion with them

I find people get confused with a c or n line - here is my description

The softcams use a protocol to connect to the server and get the keys to clear your channels, the 2 common protocols are cccam and newcamd

Now for softcam configuration and about the famous c or n line

CCCAM uses the cccam.cfg file - which has configuration settings and server details, as an example

for a nline in cccam

N: <server name> <port> <username> <password> 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

for a cline in cccam

C: <server name> <port> <username> <password>

MGCAMD uses the newcamd.list and mg_cfg file - newcamd.list for server details and mg_cfg for configuration settings

newcamd.list is where you enter details for your servers, as follows

CWS = <server name> <port> <username> <password> 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

Personally MGCAMD is better than CCCAM, but in my opinion OSCAM is far better - but thats my personal opinion.

Also for debug purposes

for CCCAM

in cccam.cfg at top add these lines

ALLOW WEBINFO: yes
WEBINFO LISTEN PORT: 16001

Using a web browser go to <ip of your box>:16001

This will give you info about server connections

MGCAMD doesn't have such a web interface, but you can view log files. In mg_cfg set the following

L: {04} /tmp/mgcamd.log

Using a FTP browser, view the above file if you have problems.

Be warned MGCAMD will append to file, so ensure it doesn't grow very big - you can delete it manually.

Thank you for all the helpful advice. I checked the box at my house & his, the line started with CWS so I used the USB to softcam plugin (think that's what it's called). I didn't have a mg_cfg file to copy across. I selected MGCAMD in softcam. Should I always press restart on the line with the TV set to sky one??

you wont need to as the softcam will install the mg_cfg file - which is in usr/keys

you only ever need to edit that to tweak settings if you have any problems

Still getting the same problems, line provider says everything is working fine his end. Should I try using a different softcam? Or change CWS to n:?

If you want to use another softcam, I would use oscam - its needs more work, but once up and running you can see why you are getting a lot of glitching/freezing

Dan did you get test? Sent twice but I think our messages are now getting blocked!
