Help needed (new member) Cannot see content on exodus / kodi?

Hope someone can help me ? I thought this would be easy but i keep frustrating myself as i bought a brand new firestick yesterday and loaded kodi after following instructions on web.

It is V 16.1 jarvis.
I used the ES app.
I am on BT internet at home.
Dowloaded exodus but although it works perfectly to the point that i can browse all the way to genre/popular movies/ tv shows etc, when i click to watch movies for example I can see the background library of films, but it will not start streaming anything. it just stops ? What am i a missing????

PS want a UK tv guide and live TV addon if you can also recommend?

I had this when I first set mine up. It was the BT router blocking it with its security settings. Try accessing Google on the stick, if you can't then you will know it's the router. You will need to enter your BT details into the Web page I also disabled access control in the router itself.

thanks for that reply - i had my suspicions?, just a one thing to add to the problem ( and I will check the BT router via google), my daughter is using a firestick in the bedroom with exodus working fine, and has been using it for some time , her boyfriend set it up a while ago for her and I know he never had an issue with the router, but its worth trying anyway.

If it's a new device BT will pick it up ...I turned off parental controls too as this can block some content.
