Hi,

I have owned a H2S box for about 3 months which has worked great. This was bought from eBay.

Anyway, after my dad saw the box at my house he wanted one. I bought from the same seller and went to set it up today. Unfortunately the box got stuck on the boot screen image and never went any further.

I emailed the seller and he sent me a link to the image for the box and said to put this on the box. I have downloaded this link and now have a folder called Zgemma.

Am i right in thinking i should now wipe the box clear and load the image from a USB stick? I know how to flash the image but what else do i need to do? Bear with me as im relatively new to this.

well what is loaded onto the box? a line?
that would be the only thing of value.
did you buy it all set up or did you buy the line separate?
You would need to back that up or get a copy from the seller.

if you was to flash a stock image, the things I would consider are:
mounting HDD/USB for - timeshift - recording - epg
then set up your:
- EPG
-Timeshift (rewind fast forward pause)
- Recording
- Skins
- Cam / Line

I have a copy of the Cline so no worries with that I doubt.

Regards the EPG, timeshift, recordings and skins, would those not be part of the zgemma folded i have now extracted to my PC? I would obviously want those features to work.

It depends on what image you flash.
For example:

if you flashed a standard openvix or a standard openatv image then those would not be set up/ included in the image.

Or

if you flashed wooshbuild (a image created and modified based on openatv) then it includes all the features and step by step setup :)
 
It depends on the image you have. If it a basic openatv then no. What do you have running is it wooshbuild or anything like that

Well according to his OP he has nothing running, just stuck on BOOT.
IMHO, he is as well just downloading WB from here and starting from scratch seeing as how he has a copy
of his line, that is assuming that the box already has openatv on it.

The box i have which is exactly the same as my dads and came all set up and only requiring a Cline.

Im not sure whether to not wipe the box completely and try flashing the image i have now extracted from the link sent to me. Or, try wooshbuild?
 
You could create a image backup from your box then flash it with that. Changing line details or just get the woosh

I do like the set up i have on my box and it would make it easier if my dads was the same.

From what you are saying i can back up everything required from my box and flash it on his, is that correct?

If so, how do i back everything up?
 
as meatball suggested - you can back up your current image to usb then flash it to the other box which is the same as yours.
All you would need to do is amend the line details and would take any auto timers off if they get carried over.

are you on vix or openatv?
 
Press the blue button not sure which one but your looking for complete backup. Pop a stick in and off you go

Ok, just checked on my box and can see complete back up option. I will try getting a back up onto a USB and then flash my dads box with that.

Someone put a post on here last week about a new way of setting up. It's called 'basebuild' you put it on a USB with ur line and it sets it all up for you when flashed. Sorry I can't find the link for you.

Hi I was looking at creating a backup image incase a wooshbuild didn't work or if I lost anything. I've had a quick look and not sure how to backup up any help would be much appreciated.
