Hi everyone, just received my skybox f3 the other day. I need some advice or pointers to the correct sections within the forum. I've got the box, have free sat faceplate installed in the flat connected the box to it and struggling to find any channels. Is there any useful set-ups i can follow. Thanks,

Set the sat to 28.2 E, Astra.

You should then pick up FTA channels

Read the tutorial as mentioned above

Then when you have got them working sort yourself a line out
for the rest.

Thanks folks, I'm i right in the assumption that i need to update my channel list via usb stick then try for a channel search? I've checked with the satellite company who supplied the flat with connections, they say the connection is up and running, so its either my box or something else that's not correct. If i can get the basic free view channels recognized in a search then i'll be a happy boy and hopefully take things from there.

updated the box via usb, for channel list, tried a scan zero, i'm only getting a 5 percent signal from my box, surely my signal should be better than that? the two connections on the back lnb and loop, do i have to connect to them both, currently connected to the lnb one. I'm struggling with this, lol.

LNB only is right.

Check your F connectors, you only need one strand of the
outer touching the inner to mess it up.

Did you buy a lead or make it up yourself ?

Then check the connections, if you have got
an outer strand touching the main inner it will
give you a low signal reading

Ive just connected it to my faceplate in the living room and it works great! I must have bought bad cable, the cable connecting to the in socket in the splitter is copper wiring inner and outer, my stuff bought of that auction site is inner copper wire with silver outer wire. Is it possible for that to affect it?

So where you up to now, have you got a channel list and
FTA channels ?

If so just post a request here
and somebody will pm you.

Yes i've got it running in the living room. The coaxial splitter box in the hallway is baffling! I disconnected it and it never affected my signal. So my connection to that wasn't ever going to work! I then tried a fresh connection from living room to bedroom where i wanted the box to be and again no signal! so it only works via my half metre connection in the living room, maybe the length and poor quality cable is at fault, i don't know. cheerz guys,
