how do i format external hd to fat32

just recieved my external hd 120gb can anyone tell me how to format it to FAT32,i have tried windows but it cant do any more than 32gb,i am not very good on computors so if any one can tell me an easy way to do this it would be much appreciated. the format on the hd just now is NTFS.:beg:

You can use a free application for windows called swissknife. Very easy to use. You can download it here:

yep swissknife is the way

find the correct drive, then try to format it in fat 32 if it is a NTFS drive you will have to remove the partition and make a new one from scratch then just format as a fat 32 drive.

just make sure u get the right drive

Or you could try Easeus. Just connect your external HD, open Easeus once you have it installed first of course, right click on your external HD and select Format, then from the drop down menu select FAT32

just tried out swissknife with windows 7 and it will not work, has known compatibilty issues, no solutions found according to windows at least just to let you all know
