Hi guys i need help. I need to have IE9 32 bit browser, but having problems.

I managed to downgrade to IE9 - something i do not usually use but need it for my gas account. It tells me : We've checked your system. To use this service right now, please switch to a computer that has Windows XP, Vista 32 bit or Windows 7 32 bit installed. If you need further help, call us on 0800 107 0188.
my system is 64 bit i have tried to download the 32 bit but again tells me my system is not compatible with the 32 bit.

I have tried the help number but they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot lol!

All my pcs run windows 7 with the 64 bit.

It's been a while since I used Windows 7 (I also used x64 version), but if I remember right there were two versions of Internet Explorer (32bit and 64bit) installed. Check in your All Programs list if they are listed as such. Or...see if clicking the compatibility icon in the address bar helps, I remember doing that a few times on some sites that didn't behave well with IE.

I'm using IE11 now in Windows 8.1 x64 and the BG site is fine for me.

Thanks Dan but its not just the BG site is a specific part, the top up part it will only run on IE9 or older and on the 32bit. I have IE and IE(64) in my All progs but clicking on the just IE link does not always work. If you fo on to site and go to where it satys your account on RH side there is a drop down and a heading home energy topup it brings up a page says sign up - try that see what it says for you

May be a flash problem, make sure your flash player is up to date or java?

java is uptodate on pc but will it need to be updated on each browser. gas board said it can only work on the IE9 32 bit system

Edit: Will only work with IE9 or lower it is true. Probably wont work with Chrome or anything else.

"we’ve changed IE such that Manager Processes always run as 64bit processes when running on a 64bit processor running a 64bit version of Windows. This improves security among other things. We do not expect that this change will meaningfully impact compatibility, because the Manager Process is designed not to run 3rd party content, and thus there’s little opportunity for anyone to take a dependency upon the Frame Process’ bitness. In support of this change, the various registry points that point to Internet Explorer have been updated to point to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe. If you manually invoke C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe, that 32bit process will simply launch the 64bit version of iexplore.exe (with the appropriate command line parameters) before exiting.
So, whether you start IE10 32/64bit, the iexplore.exe will launch for both 32bit and 64bit."

You could try Turning off Enhanced protect mode?
