imac 27" no wifi and no install discs any advice please!

Hi all,

My brother has asked me to repair his imac, dont know first thing about them only pc's

He bought as faulty with no internet access which i presume faulty wifi or something.

He tried formatting but now everything has gone and has no restore discs.

When he tries to restore the mac asks him to connect to internet but he cannot.

Anybody got any advice or know where to obtain discs / copies

Just a thought, but is there a button on the keyboard for wifi on/off? On my Windows laptop it's up at F12. If that doesn't work, does it have an ethernet port where you can connect to your router?
 
Its the airport card, they fail really easy. Wiping the imac wont solve it I'm sorry to say but it needs a repair.

Hi I agree, the Airport card, plenty of second hand ones, you did not mention what model it was? once you connect with new card you can update the software online as long as you have a apple account no need for the disks
