In app speed tests - Firestick-Smarters Pro and XCIPTV

Hi guys

When running a speed test on my Firstivk 4K (wired) is a speed test app I get around 36-39mbps. When I run the speed tests built into both the Smarters Pro and XCIPTV apps I’m only getting around 3-4!!!

Any ideas as to why and what I can do to improve it?

The speed was exactly the same for my reading's on the xciptv speed test within the app, as it was on the FAST app on the stick 48 mpbs ! Using wired adaptor.
There must be a problem with the app, you could try a different app like smarters to see if it makes a difference!

it was on both Smarters and xciptv but I have just connected my fire stick through a VPN and that seems to have fixed it, now getting much better speeds through them

wonder if my internet provider is slowing connections on the apps if that’s even possible

Depending on who it is! It could be your problem especially if the vpn is helping! My speeds drop when using vpn which is normal, Vodafone are renown for throttling speeds! If it was me I would contact your supplier whoever it is and tell them that your speeds are not reaching the agreed contract and ask them why! Take a screen shot of the speed test if necessarily and if it doesn't improve you will be leaving.
After saying all that you said your speeds were 50ish make sure you reboot the router regularly, I factory reset mine every Saturday!
