Anyone know the requirements for timeshift on an iptv stream on enigma2? I have a provider for a zgemma that I can pause and rewind on, this is running on wooshbuild (openatv based)
The provider on my Octagon it says timeshift not available on streams, it’s running on a willobuild (vix based)

Is the timeshift function provider dependent or is it something I can change on the box?
 
I use Vix and can't use Timeshift on streams but a mate who uses iPab OpenATV can use Timeshift as normal. Based on that and what you've described yourself, I can only presume it's a Vix issue, therefore.

Only reason I’m running Vix is because it’s a Willobuild, nobody else does a build for the Octagon yet.

I’ll do a backup of the current setup later and flash openatv to see if that’s the issue

To be fair it might be going back yet.......the remote shares the same codes as my LG soundbar, the left arrow mutes it and the down arrow turns it up.......and the soundbar was a LOT more expensive so not an option to replace that [emoji28]

I will get it right eventually [emoji12][emoji23]

I'm not sure if it's to do with the size and speed of the USB stick is in the device, as i initialise etc using a 4gb stick and i can record but not rewind etc but if i put my 1tb usb in and initialise it I can pause, rewind etc. Would love to know what the issue is tho

As far as I'm aware, it should work on ViX by default, but there is an option to disable timeshift on iptv streams...

However, I know that whenever I used timeshift on my image with just a single connection, it would crash the box. However, on my server with multi-connection, it worked perfectly fine...
 
I can't work it out. I have x2 boxes running same wooshbuild with same addons both with same iptv with unlimited connections but one has 4gb USB and other has 1tb external HDD attached. The 4gb USB records but doesn't pause or rewind whereas the 1tb does. Ive matched all settings the same as 1tb and still same. So ive put it down to the size of the card.

I would say for recording ect it would go on size of storage device as when you record its like the size of a torrent depending on length of program I use ipab and don't have any problems with time shift recording pause ect that's with 32gig memory stick and same on my other box with 1tb sound could be storage device size
 
I’ve got an internal 1TB and I just get the timeshift not available on a stream

I put a willobuild on there as it was the only one available for the Octagon
Might put my own on later and stop being lazy :p
