Iptv to Chromecast from smartphone

Hi guys I would like to use iptv and just wanted to know if it was possible to cast iptv from my phone. I've tried a couple of apps but they don't seem to play and have errors. I've got a 1st gen Chromecast and don't know whether that is the problem. Would appreciate it if someone could help me out and their methods if they do it this way.
 
1st gen chromecast worked fine for me the few times I have tried casting from android phone method I used was cast screen/audio from in the google home app and the iptv app I was casting from was downloaded from suppliers website
