Is android box different from iptv ?

I have Venz k3 android box. Works great. Is this different from iptv ?

iptv is a subriction based service where you pay for access to a list of channels which are streamed from a server , where as Android box is free content hence why live sport buffers a lot because 1000s of people trying free content

You can run IPTV off an android box. I don't know if it's as good as running it from a dedicated mag box or the new xtrend box.
