Is there such a thing as weak HDMI output?

direct to the TV my Q5HD i have no problems
but useing the passthrough feature on my XBone its like the HDMI signal from the Q5 is weak and causing the picture to freeze (sound ok) every few moments.

trying other HDMI devices such as the Oridgnal VM box with all the same cables is fine.

as the topic title,
can a HDMI signal be 'weak?
i was always under the assumption as its a digital signal,
it will work or not work.

I don't know the answer to your question but I do know digital signals can be weak. It's not as clear cut as either good or not, sometimes you will get a pixelated signal if the signal is weak or there is interference. Just watch an online stream to see what a digital signal can behave like. I don't understand how you are getting clear sound yet disrupted picture though, I thought then if there was a signal/cable problem it would affect all the binary going through it. Would it be something to do with the 'Passthrough' feature?

Hope you manage to get it solved.
