Hi,

I am looking to setup for a friend can someone confirm I understand this correctly and these are the things he will need:

Box: zGemma HS (Single connection watch 1 channel and record the same channel) or zGemma H2S (Dual connection can watch one channel and record another)
Satellite Dish: Sky Dish and will use either 1 connection for watching (or recording same channel) or 2 connection to be able to watch one and record another channel
USB : Will need one to install Wooshbuild and then will need to use one to keep plugged into the box for the EPG to work correctly and record programs
Internet: Needs to connect it via ethernet to his router
Line: Needs a working line to receive the sky channels

Would this all be correct or have I misunderstood anything?

Always good to plan ahead and do some research first.

For the extra cost the H2S is a better bet.
 
Yeah the H2S is like £10 more so I have sold him on that... I also have this box and its great.

regarding internet , if his router is far from the box then get a pair of homeplugs rather than have Ethernet cable running all round the house
 
Cheers for replies.. Although it says you need 2 x usb, could you just put the wooshbuild stuff on it to install, then use it as the recording/epg storage? or do you still need a second?

As far as line goes yeah I told him ebay is terrible, I got mine from here and will probably just email the guy I use to them.
 
Always handy to have two usb , one for epg etc and leave in the box , and a spare for reflashing or sticking ipk files on it ......
 
Aye, but 1) you don't NEED it as long as you've got the files on your PC (even then you can just download it again) and 2) you can install IPKs through FileZilla.
