Issue streaming IPTV HD on iPad

Hi All

I am having a strange issue with streaming IPTV HD channels on an iPad 2. When I try to stream a HD channel the picture freezes for 5-10 seconds then plays for a second/will break up. Rinse and repeat. The sound is usually fine.

THis is only an issue with HD channels, SD channels stream fine. It's not a provider issue as I can stream to other devices perfectly. Its also not a connection issue as I've tried it on a few different connections. Its also not an issue with the app I am using to load the m3u as I've tried different apps.

It would seem the iPad is struggling to process the more demanding HD streams. The iPad has plenty of space on it and is up to date in regards to iOS. Even tried a factory reset/restore but still the issue remains. Any ideas??

What app are you using out of interest? I find VLC Player seems to handle HD streams best.

I've tried GSE IPTV and "Television" both on the app store. I do use VLC on a laptop for IPTV and its fine. I will give it a go on the iPad but I think I may have tried this previously (issue has been lingering for a while!)

Just tried a few HD streams on my ipad 2 using GSE. They seem to work ok, but I'm mindful that the iPad 2 is getting a bit old now. And, if using wifi, it's never the best method!

Can the VLC app on iOS handle m3u playlists? Just tried it and it loads the stream but is just playing BBC 1 and there doesn’t seem to be a way to load the playlist so I can select channels?
