Kryptview a780- no or bad signal

Sakim

Newbie
My box hasnt been working for last 3 days. Initially i thought it was due to maintenance in the area but everything seems to be fixed. Tried a factory default but auto scan isnt working. When searching fot netword id is finds a few saying x amount already exist at automatic search bring back nothing.

The signal strenght is 56 and tp is either 8/8 or 11/11. I tried different networks but still get same issue. Was working fine up until 3 days ago.

Any ideas what it could be or how to fix it?

X amount already exists is fine been doing that for months possibly even years. Only finding 8/8 or 11/11 tps sound like you are scanning wrong network should be around 56 TPs I think from memory. What area are you in and who was the provider in that area NTL or telewest etc?

Yes everything was working fine for a while and after rescanning starting getting already exists. Going to try again 2mrw with teds instructions.

Im in guildford provider was telewest i believe. Very strange for it to just go off.

Virgin have been disconnecting customers out in the streets of late. Do you subscribe to there tv or cable BB services at all?

I dont subscribe to either. Could i have been cut off? Ive had a look at the cables outside and inside everything seems ok. Will disconnect and reconnect the cables indoors to see if that does anything. Thanks guys.

O/P says there's a signal, is any FTA channels working (BBC,ITV), possibly there was a fault then doing a factory reset deleted your NetID.

No fta channels working. Tried a new cable. Removed splitter to try from direct feed still not working.

Doesnt get past easy installation screen. Tried a few things previously mentioned for people who had the same issue. Didnt work either. Is this the end? [emoji16]

Tested one by factory reset and rescanned and all still fine so issue defo local to you. Boxes and server are as expected.

take it to a mates house and if it scans and picks up channels then you know,if people dont pay for a service be prepared for the snip - wayne bobbit special lol

Well IF they cut mine at least I rinsed it for the last 9 years so can't complain.. But as a last resort sakim you could get broadband only from vermin for a pony a month (25 quid) and then hook the TV up to it via a splitter.. Not the best solution but you will still be getting free TV from them and you need bb anyway to live..!! There is always a way bro..

I would have taken broadband but ive only just signed up to talktalk broadband a month or so again. God bless skygo or id have to watch tv with the wife downstairs.

I think for the time being il play around and research to see if i have actually been cut off. Thanks for your help ppl esp ted as usual [emoji4]

sakim your not alone with the signal being dropped imunable to take up a subscription from virmin and i noticed my signal level went to 56 the only way i could get round it was to get a konig signal booster there are others you can use a good attenuator but must be 6db or higher that will give you a signal boost also these steps are only if you know that your signal has been dropped when it reads 56 its not off the grid it has however been placed at the bottom end of the junction box and im pritty sure the signals may be different for internet so if you do take a sub from them id advise on the basic tv as at the signal 56 the internet still runs very well

you have not seen the new adjustable Variable Attenuator - This attenuator can be adjusted from 0 - 20db for a gain of upto 20db i wasnt talking about the standard Attenuator added for reduction of a strong signal the konig is around 34 pounds where this other option is around £6.49 thats why i added the obove reply lol

the konig is booster for low signals as it has been out for years and is adjustable.

What Is It?
The Konig AMP-PRO30A is an aerial amplifier and signal booster that is designed to increase and improve TV signals. It is a high power amplifier of professional standard. It has one input and one output and both these are F-plug (screw on) connections.

How Does It Work?
The Konig AMP-PRO30A is mains powered. You can connect it to any signal source (Sky decoder, aerial etc.). The Konig AMP-PRO30A then enhances any signal passed through it. It has one input and one output. The Konig AMP-PRO30A is a very powerful amplifier designed for long cable runs or difficult installations - maximum gain of the 30dB and the gain is adjustable. The unit also has slope control, which helps you to even out the discrepancies between high and low frequencies over long cable runs.

Anything Else?
The Konig AMP-PRO30A is wall mountable and comes with mounting screws. The unit supports an active return path. Also see the Konig AMP-PRO30.

Thanks spice/cactikid

I have ordered a new coaxial cable and have some sort of signal booster in the garden shed. When the cable arrives il give it another go if that doesnt work it may be the end of kv for me [emoji16]

Try it on a know working feed before you waste time with boosters new cables and there could potentially still be a box fault of some sort. Or indeed the line been disconnected out in the street.
