hey guys sorry i am new to this stuff but my box was working until about 2 days ago and i heard that i will need to update the firmware but when i try to search for s/w update through the box, it makes no progress so can any of you guys direct me to the right direction, any help is appreciated thanks

Manually update your box to the April 2012 firmware that should work for you

how come people are still downloading the older firmware more than the new one. Does the new 04/12 firmware work correctly?

how comes this forware is 1.2MB when the older one are a max of 500Kb?
 
it was only posted today,people were told to do a s/w online update after they flashed their boxes,april 2012 was an online update only,but boxes would not update for the last few days so this link was posted to fix the problem.

make sure its not a compressed file needing extraction first.
 
can you not simply do the SW update through your box which extracts itself and then reboots the box and voila your channels are back up - i know someone that did it and it worked without doing the factory reset.

The online update should be sorted now so yes you can but for people who have the 2011 firmware that might be a problem as they dont have the April 2012 on first.

So those with 2011 SW would they need to go to April 2012 SW then update to the latest one or is April 2012 the latest SW out there?

April 2012 was the last released file to fix the updating problem, so i would say yes they need that one on before they can do a remote update.
 
there were 2 online updates in 2012 april and november,i think people should check if they can do a s/w update every month then if one is released they will get it.check forums for notifications also.
 
Hi again , I'm not sure what's wrong with this again but I was able to do s/w update through the box and I had the 10/11/2012 update However the box stopped working about one hour ago , so I updated it twice and now its on 12/11/2012 but I still get 'scrambled or no video' message, is that what u guys get?
