Hi I have been reading loads about the kryptview and it all seems easy to set up for cable in the uk but one thing I can't seem to find is, do I need to pay an annual subscription to keep all the channels working or what thanks

There are no subscription costs with kryptview
you need to get the latest firmware
You can do this via kryptview/ menu/ installation/ S/W update
At this time some channels are still down and some are going off then coming back on again

You might be confusing yourself with the Kryptview and the Starview. Its already been mentioned by robin_hoods that no subscription is required for the Kryptview, but not all channels are back yet.
