H guys

i have a question regarding lnbs.

my current setup is as follows

Front room - openbox v8s connected with one lead
main room. - slyHD connected with two cables
lnb installed - Quad
zgema2s.

I'm still in contract with sly and wife likes the recording feature so need to keep that for now, but I want to run my zgemma in main room also.

the problem is that despite trying one feed to sly box and one to zgemma and a loop, my sly box doesn't want to play and keeps saying it has no signal, even when the zgemma is turned off.

so my question is this

as I'm using 3 connections from my lnb ( 1 to openbox & 2 to sly) can i use the remaining connection on my quad lnb to feed the zgemma box?

or should I purchase one of these Sky Digital Satellite TV Dish FTA Freesat Genuine Zinwell LNB Octo J8LS 14347 | eBay

Yes if getting the zgemma 2 s just put tuner B to not configured

The octo LNB's work well, I have two Zone Two sky uk dishes on my house both with Octo LNB's to supply my various boxes along with a 1 meter dish which has a inverto ultra twin lnb.

May be worth just quickly throwing an extra cable from your fourth port on existing Quad to check the zgemma box works fine. I mean through a window or something first. At least then you'll know that it's worth the effort cabling another run into the main room. But in theory it should work fine.

I have set the zgemma box using one of the two cables from my sly box, so it just needs its own feed now I hope.

If your not using your sky+ box for recording it will work on just the 1 cable so freeing up the other 1

I think with the Sky HD box it matters which connection you screw the one cable into .
As I was screwing and unscrewing mine last week while setting my zgemma up and I'm sure the signal came on when I was in the middle of screwing one back in .
Have you tried swapping the cables about ?
I'm probably totally wrong lol

If you want to use just 1 cable on sky+ box all you need to do is put cable in input 1 Then Installer menu Set up menu Services 0,0,1 Then press down to single feed Ok box will reboot. All done

i found that too, one cable gave a feed, the other didn't', but at first i could record from sly as long as I watched what I was recording, but after a day if I clicked record I would lose signal..very weird

the wife wants to keep the record feature until the contract runs out.
