Got my MAG 256 W2 setup yesterday, subscribed to a 24hr trial from a forum member yesterday and I've got to admit I was blown away by it. It's very easy to use, took about 15 mins to setup, then followed the instructions sent by the sub provider to load the sub and away I went. There were 2 momentary freezes over a 3 hour period which lasted literally 3-4 seconds but then back to normal. I've got vm broadband which is running 100mb wireless, my connections wired through ethernet I preferred it that way for stability. I also was using my phone on wifi and the Mrs was streaming Netflix on her ipad and the performance seemed to be solid. It's early days yet and I'm going to try a few more subs to see what's out there but all in all first impressions are very happy indeed.

I'll be getting another trial sub this evening mate and I shall set it up via wifi and feedback on the results. I think quality and performance will massively depend on firstly the internet speed and secondly the equipment as in router/modem etc. If your looking at the 256 W2 youll be aware it's the 600mbs version as opposed to the 150Mbps W1, but it's only relevant if your modem/router is up to the job. Personally I prefer wired ethernet and where I haven't got one I'll run one, it's not that hard and if you can't make your own you can buy them already made relatively cheap online. I prefer because wifi can be unstable especially with other devices/wifi signals and bands floating around, not only your property but also neighbouring properties, this all effects performance and I want to make the IPTV experience as enjoyable as possible. People moan about it when viewing over wifi but I think that's unfair as let's be honest it's an invisible signal trying to communicate between 2 different bits of tech. Anyway a slight degress there but will let you know how it performs on the wifi and for the record I'm using a standard vm superhub 2 so nothing fancy, it should get a fair test on standard equipment being used.

agree but as I have boxes in the bedrooms i don't want to run cat 5 cables all over the place. Could out a wee 4 port GB in the loft and then cable out from there but hell whats the point of WIFI....
its a fibre router (60mb Down and 15MB up) with a 2.5 and a 5ghz WFI receivers on independent channels (not sync between them), i could close the 5GHZ side off for IPTV and let the other wifi device connect on the 2.5 if needed.
