Man charged with murder in Waterford

A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder following a stabbing incident in Waterford city early yesterday morning.


Waterford 27-year-old man's body found in house

27-year-old Patrick Murphy died after the incident in a house in the Glen, Waterford city.

John Flaherty with an address at Ard Daire, Ferrybank, just outside of the city, was brought before a special sitting of Waterford District Court this afternoon.

The court was told that earlier today he was charged with the murder of Mr Murphy and he made no reply to the charge.

He was remanded in custody to appear back in Waterford District Court on Friday.

Amy Quigley, 24, who was in the house at the time of the incident, received a stab wound to the leg and other injuries.

She remains in hospital in Waterford.
