A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the manslaughter of a woman who died in a house fire three years ago.
Ann-Marie O'Neill Died after arson attack
Jason Murphy, 37, of Elm Park in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, was convicted by a jury last March of the manslaughter of 50-year-old Ann-Marie O'Neill in April 2007 and of two counts of arson.
He had pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trial in Clonmel had heard that a fire was started in the car owned by Mrs O'Neill's husband, Pat, and spread to their house while they slept upstairs.
Mr O'Neill escaped by jumping from a bedroom window but Mrs O'Neill was unable to escape and died.
Mr Justice Thomas Teehan said the crime was a callous one.
He sentenced Murphy to 15 years imprisonment for manslaughter, 12 years for arson to the car and seven years for arson to the house. All sentences are to run concurrently.
In a victim impact statement, Mrs O'Neill's family said they miss her desperately.
