Motor alignment issues.

Well that is totally different scenario to what you have happening with 16 so it could well be alignment issues or wrong coordinates.

Ring your installer and tell him to use big repair washers. Thanks me later.
16e is the same I just tried it now instead of pressing go to position afterwards I just let the USALS take it to the position again no signal so I pressed 4-5 clicks towards east and boom I get a perfect signal identical scenario to Thor 0.8w.

Take .1 off your usuals longditude setting then try 0.2 if no better add 0.1 then 0.2.

Messing with that will bring them back in but your dish need looking at always a risk with a 1.2 on a usuals motor if the installer has not nipped things up enough.

Anyway all this is now a installation issue and nothing to do with Viark type box so ill move this to its own thread.

I changed my longditude from 0.2 which the installer set it as to 0.4 and now all my USLAS are working again. So the dish must have moved slightly as I never touched these settings.

Although I have got it back working by altering the longitude should I still get my installer back out or just see how I go. We had very bad wind yesterday so I’m worried it will move again if we get bad wind again.

Call him and tell him what you have had to do.

@Ferret.
Think I need to get my self done of these , got a link , Amazon,? Screwfix?

Winds lately and signal dropped a bit 39e with fine tuning (w) 4/5 presses increases signal by 2db similar to 30w but I have to go back east 2/3 presses. Would this indicate the dish has moved slightly east .

Got uo but no matter what I do on the nuts I can't get them few percent back......

Would the washers do the trick . Or could it be an incline drop..

Larger washers create a greater clamping force so yes they would help in winds.

It does sound like your alignment has been blown off. The washer would also help if it was a inclination drop. But i suspect the whole dish assembly has moved aroun its mounting pole or the dish around the stub of the motor .

Every standard washer on the motor dish clamps would benefit from the below and keep alingment in check during high winds much better,

Penny Washer

Hi is there anyone in the west midland getting bein sports 8w channels ? I had strong wind last weekend and it moved my dish and I had to call my installer back out to realign everything. However since he realigned everything today I’m no longer able to get any signal on bein 1,2 and 3 and I can only get a mere 57% on bein 4,6,7 and 8. However when he first installed my dish a few weeks back I was getting 59% and 1,2,3 would drop to 57% after 8pm ish but 4,6,7 and 8 would remain solid. Now the only channels I can get solid at 60% are bein English and French and I was getting around 61% before on them too but now it’s around 59%-60%.

I get them in Leeds area. Signal does drop the later afternoon.

Looks like you may need him back again.

Rugby Friday and Football Saturday, give us a shout Sunday and ill take a look at my readings for ya.
No worries thank you. Do you think it could be a case of just adjusting the skew a bit on the lnb to improve the signal as the dish and bracket are all aligned properly on the ARC I’m wondering if a slight twist on the lnb skew could solve it and get it back to how it was previously.

You have said you have had better signal previously though ?

In terms of skew as the dish leans as it moves across the arc the skew is taken care of in a rough way although its never perfect its close. You could tweak the scew for 7/8west its not going to effect most of the sats on a 1.2 as they are strong enough.

I have checked this morning and I’m getting 58% on bein 1,2,3 11013 H as the day continues its getting weaker and eventually I can no longer lock whereas before it was locking all day. I would get some break up after 8pm but I would never not be able to lock whereas now I’m losing it completely a lot earlier in the day. Would you say the most likely outcome is it’s just around 0.1-0.3 degrees off the sweet spot from the arc alignment and my installer needs to come back and nudge it ever so slightly so it’s hitting that sweet spot again. I’m just thinking that it was working well before the wind issue and the lnb was never touched so like you said messing with the skew is probably not going to help my issue.

Reception deteriorates /improves at different time of day and also time of year impacts this, its not meant for reception here, only answer is much bigger dish.
Location
Is it 1.1 or 1.2 dish?
Make of dish?
Lnb make?

Hi it’s a 119cm Famaval dish with a inverto black ultra lnb.

Oh wow ok i thought it was 119cm. My installer managed to get all the signals back consistent today on it anyway. I do expect 8w to break up after 8pm I think a 1.4m would solve that issue but 1.1 is not bad from the midlands 7W bein channels are really solid no matter the time.
