Si do I need to change the mount points around....
Currently the SSD is /media/hdd and the usb is /media/sdb1/
What about recordings

Both storage devices are flash memory. Why do you need two devices?

My thoughts exactly. Abu I tried mounting a 256GB memory card yesterday in my octagon box but keeps getting timed out error. Anything you can suggest it inilsialized a 128GB fine. Genuine SanDisk the only one's I use.
If you’ve got a usb stick then you use it to save the hdd media be it ssd or hdd, it’s got to be doing with writing the epg to flash, apparently it happens quite a lot, when you power on, when it’s downloaded and son on. It’s just good housekeeping. USB cheap as chips, not the pc kind

So what is it , yes I've got both a 16gb usb and a SSD in the hard drive bay.

Trying out different images I'll put vix , atv on and probably convert Vix to willobuild,

If you want a prebuilt image then willobuild will be good.
If you want to build your own image go with plain openatv where you can add your own plugins.
Didn't like pli and bh.
not full of anything not even dependencies when needed

I've put Vix and openatv on and going through plugins and add-ons etc ,
Got a oscam line to test out ..
Do I just install latest oscam emu form the feeds or do I need a
Oscam icam patch version.
Channels lists do I need need to read up on whitelists , streamrelay, etc to get icam channels to open .

on openatv I just install oscam-master from secret feed

So for channels that work via stream relay you no longer have to select "play service with streamrelay" in the channel list context menu...
the option is still there but no iv'e never used it this is with openatv also on openvix no need for secret feeds install oscams are included in plugins. Autobouquetsmaker makes whitelist_streamrelay file but if also using Softcsa you actuall delete whitelist_streamrelay file.
