hi everyone i have just joined this forum . i am a member of many and compare how the forums differ in software and teck advise on starview boxes. i think we all know that we are going to lose all channels soon and at the moment there is nothing anyone can do about it (unless you know different?)however being a tech freak myself i always keep my ear to the ground and i know of someone who claims to have overcome the new encryption with a 2 process activation software and claims it will be available by the end of august or soon after. i am monitoring it closely. she YES SHE has promised me i will be one of the first to use it when it becomes available so i will keep you informed. I am told it will only work on starview 4 or later if used on earlier boxes they WILL be bricked which is basically what they will be anyway. and if flashing instructions are not followed the new starview will also be bricked so be warned. I will post again as soon as i know it is available...

well thats funny cos i said exactly the same but with all due respect she did tell me she was getting it off someone else who happens to be female as well so it will be very interesting. although someone on the local sunday market claims the digital boxes he is selling are chipped for sky and will receive all channels and will self update but i have not yrt spoken to anyone who has bought one nor have i been there when anyone has said otherwise. he is asking 250 GBP for them but i dont have sky nor would i risk it although he is there quite often and is still in one piece
to receive sky you need a dish, but i agree i would not give that sort of money to someone on a market stall.
As you say will be very interesting if its true, so keep us posted :)
The guy must be selling other stuff as these boxes are illegal, and you would have thought they'd be hush hush, so yes its a wonder he is still trading

this would be nice, but have to agree, i won't hold my breath. markets over here are quite blatant about selling things like this, they would sell dodgyboxes, cards for the DS, copied DVD's, etc, they gett away with this as the markets aren't policed too well, about twice a year you hear of a raid on a market and so many hundreds of DVD's being confiscated. i think the fines over here are quite low as well, so if they have had a good week, then fine paid no problem
