Hi Guys I've recommissioned my motorized dish and now need to install oscam ready to start testing lines,I used to use cccam and can remember when I first was figuring out what I was doing it drove me crazy until I cracked it, unfortunately, I find myself in the same situation,I seem to add this add that and not really know what I'm doing there's so many different how to's that are so different.

Can anyone suggest any good guides? when I receive a test I don't know 100% if I've set it upright or the server is crap lol

I'm running the latest vix image.

really appreciate your help guys

First off cccam still works and on the latest arm boxes so you can still use it if you want.

Oscam in my opinion takes a fair bit of tweaking to make it run smoothly. In simple terms you can download load oscam from the vix menu, the issue is has it installed all the oscam files needed. You could
use a tool to convert your cline to oscam. Then download oscam from the vix menu. Go into softcam and start the cam. Go to the your boxes web interface on your pc. You get into this by putting your boxes ip address into your browser. If you get into this at the bottom left of the screen is should say oscam webinterface or just oscam. If you click on this it will get you into the setting menu in oscam. This basically tells you what's going on. If you click files in the tabs at the top and then go into oscam.server this is where you would put your converted cline. Save exit and restart the cam. This should clear your channels.

There are other ways using filezilla and putting your files in the via ftp.

I use the same files for 19.2 SkyDE and Moviestar and they're fine.
Not able to test on other sats I'm afraid but can't see any reason why they shouldn't be okay.

Thankyou ive added these and it started working I can see hops etc on the screen and receiving dazn,is the oscam conf the one I need to add when getting tests ??
Your lines go in oscam.server

Typical example

[reader]
label = Line 1
enable = 1
protocol = cccam
device = server.org,12101
user = okmate
password = 12345
cccversion = 2.3.0
group = 1
inactivitytimeout = 1
reconnecttimeout = 30
lb_weight = 100
cccmaxhops = 3
ccckeepalive = 1
cccwantemu = 0
disablecrccws = 1
Skip CWs checksum test = 1
ecmnotfoundlimit = 30

The latest version of Oscam emu based on soft keys, with modern enigma2 recievers have 64 96
Descramblers which means they can open 4× more channels The older versions had 16 Descramblers For the solution to work correctly you must add disablecrccws_only_for" and only in oscam.server in the config

Updated disablecrccws for oscam

Oscam
disablecrccws_only_for = 0500:030B00,032830,050F00;098C:000000;09C4:000000;098D:000000;1708:000000;1811:003311;0E00:000000;092B:000000;0B01:000000;1813:000068;1884:000000

it would seem i have much learning to do lol
ive just got my vuduo2 setup to my motorised dish running the latest vix,i'm new to oscam so struggling to understand my issues,I'm currently testing servers at the moment but the 3 I've tried all seem to freeze,I'm also getting the vix cog top left of my screen spinning sometimes when the pictures freezes,how can I identify if the server is at fault or my setup ?,I do see hop1 and ecm times jump when I get a freeze.
it also takes a long time for the channel to display when flicking from 1 to another.

any help would be very much appreciated

Vix cog is really annoying isnt it lol

Try setup a swap file it may help that, set it up on a usb.

If you want PM me a test line you have and ill do you a reader that just needs pasting into your Oscam.server

Has been said before, but there is a problem with Openvix and Oscam. Oscam stopping and high ecm times. Threre is a script to start oscam instead of using Softcam Manager. Lots of info on WoS forum.

Your not using oscam then if your just pasting a line in.

This is a reader

New to oscam

Basically its your line split up so oscam can use it with some instruction in there for how oscam uses it.

I'm too old to get my brain round this stuff now, since i retired its getting harder to get the head to work
my supplier told me to use oscam 11517 (was a few years ago)
should i add disablecrccws_only_for = 0500:030B00,032830,050F00;098C:000000;09C4:000000;098D:000000;1708:000000;1811:003311;0E00:000000;092B:000000;0B01:000000;1813:000068;1884:000000
also my oscam DVBAPI file has everything prefixed with # only one line shows without the # prefix
should i use the DVBAPI file from the zip file posted above

The disable crows option wont be of much use on the older oscams you need to update that to the later versions so may as well go for the latest.

Try the DVBAPI from above its basic but nothing lost if you backup your old one.
