Newbie. IPTV frustrating issues

Hi
I am currently on my 3rd IPTV provider in 12 months. First one shut down second one buffering badly and third one now buffering.
I have a fire stick 4k max hard wired to the EE hub using the fire stick adaptor. My broadband is EE fibre 500 and I have both Nord and the free proton VPN,s. The iptv are ones bought through friends of friends. First one is based on the tivimate player, obviously a hacked version the second is sold as sky glass based on I think smarters. Buffering is bad and I have read countless ways to fix or improve it. I don't think it's my fire sticks as they are both new but I have thought of trying a new box. When I play movies on demand I very very rarely get any buffering it's always live TV. I checked internet speed with Nord on and was amazed to see only a 40mbs speed. I know it's capped at 100mbs with the fire stick adaptor. I tried it wirelessly with no VPN and got over 300 mbs. I tried every setting on Nord but no improvement. I then installed proton free and I'm getting 80mbs double the Nord speed. With the VPN,s off I still get buffering. A friend has the tivimate version so I asked him if his is buffering and it is and he's got the same setup as me. I don't know of any thing else to try. I was with sky for 26 years ,it got very expensive but it was so stable.

Any advice is much appreciated

Not sure why someone has reported this post, but ignoring that, 40mb is more than enough for live TV, you should try some FREE tests from providers here, try one each day for a week and pick the best one, stay away from newbies as these come and go every week. Once you've picked one, take a month or 3 months and only after that, go for a longer sub.
Ask in the iptv request thread, DON'T start a new thread asking for providers and dont ask in this thread, there's only one thread where you can ask

Thank you for the advice . I will ask for some trials. Maybe I've just got some poor oversubscribed providers I will also try another device. Can i also ask what is the best player I quite like tivimate.
Also should I be asking. Supplieirs for extreme codes.

if your mates doesn't buffer and he has on stick or box you can easily move. try his stick at your place.

if it works its your provider if it doesn't there is something going on with your setup.

Nord is not the best for IPTV. Its not all about download speeds use something like PIA for TV much better.

Make sure you have turned off your nanny settings

I wouldn't stress about the player, tivimate is popular but some providers dont allow it, or other players as they wont give out the DNS/M3u that the players need.
Use the player that the providers should send you.

As others have said, which i forgot to say, try and get your existing sub working first. If you have an Android phone, try your providers app on that, using your home WiFi, and if its the same, try your mobile data. If its buffering on WiFi but not phone data, its probably your ISP blocking you, in which case its pointless keep buying more subs, let us know if it works

You mentioned your friend has the same Tivimate app and I am assuming with the same supplier and theirs is buffering also.
That sounds like the service could be the issue.
As mentioned try it on your phone with mobile data if you can.
Using a VPN does usually stop ISP interference with blocks and throttling your connection.

Looking on Google there's loads of flashy sites advertising IPTV but which ones are trustworthy. If I could use a legit version of tivimate and find a good provider who lets you have a playlist to input maybe that may help as the playlists seem embedded into their players.

Any advice is much appreciated
Well for starters 30-50 is more then enough for IPTV. Don't worry about trying to chase the highest speeds if you're meeting a realistic streaming speed. More is not always better.

I think your biggest pain point could be your hardware, but before I blame that I would strongly suggest trying a cellphone app to see how the service functions. Do it on your wireless, on your cell phone network, and with and without a VPN on. I am a firm believer that when trouble shooting Network > Device > Service is the order I tend to go.

I forgot to mention. I have tried them on 2 different tvs and 2 different firesticks. Wireless and hard wired . You tube, iplayer, itvx, prime video all work fine. Only buffers on the iptv services live tv.
The on demand films and series work fine 99.9 % of the time.

Where are you connecting too VPN wise? :)

One of the services I figured out is in Ireland so I connect to Manchester approx 40 miles from me. I did try Irland . The other one i think is Guernsey so I connect to the Netherlands. Did speed test and ping tests. Have tried it without the vpn on still buffers.

If your isp was blocking you, the on demand stuff would be affected too.
Your friend is having same problem, its unlikely he's using same isp, the common factor is your provider.
Easiest way to find out is take a 24 hour test, if that plays OK its definitely not your isp.
You can still leave the existing provider sub running, it can be used for vod/series and you've already paid for it anyway

There was a Nord update in the last few days which might have changed / reverted some of your previously saved settings. Check the Nord setting that's now called Scam and Phishing Protection. If that's enabled turn it off and see if that makes a difference.

I can assure you there is nothing wrong with fire sticks.

My guess if its happening for you and your friend possibly a server issue

There is nothing wrong with tivimate suppliers app
