Newly Flashed - Only free channels :(

Hi,

I have flashed the box and updated with latest firmware via the box. I do a scan for channels on telewest, on network and location birmingham. It finds the channels and says it is complete. I press exit and all the channels are free channels and discovery. I have been at this for hours and i feel like i might have just wasted my money as i already have freeview. Does anyone know why i am not getting the premium channels? Please could someone help me.
 
If you are getting a limited number of channels on your scan you need
to try another net id, just reset box to factory default to delete
all the channels you have then try another area it is not always
the nearest one that works, I am in liverpool and have about 5 or 6
options closer to me but I get all the channels using "manchester 2".

just repeat the process until you find the right one and make a note of it
incase you need it again.

If you are getting the channels listed but they are showing scrambled / no video
you might have a faulty LAN lead.

Hi,

Thank you for that. I have the channels now. Only some channels are showing up scrambled like disney xd and some others. The LAN cable is new so i will try a different one just incase. Could it be that the scrambled channels have been recoded and that i would have to wait for someone to de-scramble? Sorry for the newbieness
 
your box automatically updates and scans
for channels when on standby mode.

Sometimes the channels will show scrambled
if work is being carried out on the server etc, some go
missing and then come back. This is normal at the moment
the disruption is not usually that great, especially when you read
the starview section
there is a thread showing what channels you should be able to pick
up on this section.
 
not all the channels are working on KV boxs since the server issue back in march only a limited number of music and kids etc most movies and sports. so dont be surprised if some still show as scambled at present if SS1 etc are working you are in business.
