Noob macbook owner buying a Zgemma box

Just in the process of learning all about these boxes and what they can do, I've seen various videos and about adding a line or gift to the box via PC but there's nothing on how to do this with a Mac? I've only got a macbook.

Can I ask is it possible to add a line or gift on a Mac? and is there any tutorials or videos to show how you do it?

I'm sure that the ftp client (FileZilla) software is available on Mac so therefore it will be possible. Just make sure your Macbook is on the same network as the zgemma
 
Enable samba in your network settings on your box. You will then see your box in finder under shared. Connect using root as user name.

cheers can you elaborate abit for me? So it's not a case of just downloading the Mac version on filezilla and doing the same as PC version.
 
Yes you can use FileZilla for Mac. I was just giving you another option using your mac using finder.
 
cheers everyone, hopefully get the hang of putting lines into the box, a ebay seller told me can't be done on a mac so was abit concerned.

Any brand of USB recommended?

E-Bayer seller is wrong. I do it all the time with a Mac.

Usb Brand. Kingston,Sandisk.

Just for anyone coming to this thread on a search having issues connecting to their Enigma2 receiver (e.g. Zgemma, Formuler, etc) via Mac Finder, Windows Explorer etc to enable samba in your network settings on your box go:

Menu | Setup | System | Network | Samba Setup | If not already running press GREEN to start

I'm running Cross-ftp on my mac, as Flash-ftp would not run on a mac, it was a bit tricky setting up, but works a treat now
