can anyone help? I've moved to a new provider and all works correctly but even though I've deleted the old provider the EPG is still loaded with their channel info (but no longer populated) is it possible to delete this irreverent info?

Maybe need to untick the option from EPG Importer.

I've tried all of that the old provider has been removed but anything I try its still there hence my question here

Have you deleted the old provider in EPG Importer plugin ?
 
Its possible the EPG.dat file still holds epg data from your last provider, delete it .

Youll find it in media/usb or media/hdd depending on how your setup then reboot and download the EPG again with EPG Importer.

If that does not work i would uninstall EPG Importer then reinstall it, blank slate.

Re download your provider channels in BMX then open EPG Importer and tick the epg for your provider and then yellow button to manually download.

if I uninstall EPG importer how do I get it back? other ones I delete never reappear in the downloadable file

It wasn't an epg problem, it was blank bouquets/channels from old provider

didn't make any difference, as I said theres no info in the lists but all the individual channels are listed just as before I'm hesitant to remove any plugins as they never appear back in the ti install list.

You must have your old provider details still in bmx, it's creating old and new bouquets, the old ones are dead.
I dont use bmx now but I think you can remove old playlists in main menu, failing that, you can edit it in playlists.txt file

no its been deleted 100% unfortunately I don't have any means to edit files on the sf8008

Do as ferret suggested delete EPG Importer plugin then do a ful reboot not just Restart GUI ( Menu - Restart - Reboot )

You can reinstall it from the feeds (Menu - Plugins - Green button to download - Extensions - )

Once you reinstall EPG Importer plugin tick the provider in sources then yellow to download epg data)
