Hello.
I have got a new Octogan sf8008 sat/terrestrial box a few days ago but haven't set it up.
The box is factory settings and no vix on it.
Currently have Tivia Alpha + but my IPTV provider has a lot more channels on that I can't play due to not having h.265 box.
I know I can get android box for IPTV and have fire stick for that.
My box is vix 6.6 willow build.
Will I have to install vix 1st and then run willow build?
Also is there a way of using my current settings/timers on the new box if I use a backup or will it mean a complete new install?
I use Bouquet Maker Xtreme for my IPTV and xstreamity for vod.

You can transfer timers, but receiving receiver must have Enigma2 stopped before you transfer over. You could also transfer the file called "settings", you will have to correct tuner configuration after. most things should work. But there is a risk you will have an incompatible setting transferred across.

Willowbuild downloads official ViX then applies his changes and installs his version of skins/plugins after.

Only benefit of flashing twice, is for you to transfer your settings and timers

As the box is set to factory settings apart from it being on do I just use the script from willow on a pc to the box and that's it or will I need to do anything else?

I don't think anything is on the new box as it was on factory settings.

My pal bought it last week new but had sky q TV and discovered that the lnb is not compatible and the dish is high up on a gable end and no access to very long ladders to change lnb so I snapped his hand of for it.

Current box is Vix.
 
It has to have a.n image on it. Select Menu Information and have a look in the menus.

Failing that, boot into recovery and flash VIx from there. Or flash by USB.

Not at home now but will try that later.

I just wanted to get all the info on flashing the new box, software and whatever is needed before trying set it up.
