Openbox V8S blinking USB stick

Hi
Recent owner of V8S ..... managed to get everything working ok. Just have a slight annoyance!
I am using a 32gb USB stick for recording purposes however, even when not in use it continues to blink as if it is either being written to or accessed!
Is this normal ..... if not how do I stop it, short of removing it of course?

It showing it has power getting to it that's all. Just slap a bit of tape on it or black marker
